You are asking the wrong question. It is not U-Boot that can  or  can
not support such a boot mode, but the processor you are using.

Again the wrong questions. It is not the board that maters,  but  the
processor.

I don't know of any processor that can boot from CompactFlash without
using a primary bootstrap loader  in  some  other  boot  device  like
standard NOR flash.
