Dear Detlev,

I find the prob may be with the old Incomplete Installation.
I removed all directory and did a fresh install , with ppc-2008-04-01.iso
and it worked fine.
Thanks for the suggestions and help.
I am using Ubuntu 7.04 - the Feisty Fawn - released in April 2007.
Now I am able to compile u-boot and linux for sequoia.
