You don't need to copy the kernel to that "special" position. As long
as you do not need any user visible API changes between 2.6.24 and now,
the 2.6.24 kernel source tree inside the ELDK is perfectly fine and can
stay there.
Usually we build kernels outside of the ELDK distributed files and
simply use it on the target. Also we use the standard procedure to do
this. There is no special ELDK script doing any magic....
