I hesitate to add this patch, as I'm not convinced  that  this  is  a
problem that should be addressed in U-Boot. U-Boot seems to work fine
on  the  MIPS  systems  I  can  test  myself,  and Masami Komiya also
reported success.

Please explain why you think this is an U-Boot issue, and not instead
a problem with the MV kernel?
