This is to be expected. Please read the  manual  (DULG)  how  to  use
S-Record download. Note that Windows Hyperterminal is *not* listed as
supported tool for this purpose.

This is then a problem with Hyperterminal. Use the recommended  tools
instead.

You're using the wrong tools.

There is no default path. It's up to the terminal program  to  select
and send the appropriate file.
