[U-Boot-Users] Compile options for IXP425

We're using an IXP420/425 on our latest board and I'm curious about the
choice of -march= and -mtune= options.
Is it possible to use -march=armv5te (instead of armv4) and -
mtune=xscale (instead of strongarm1100)?

Has this been tried and what with what level of success?
Is there any advantage to using these options?
