Emil brought to my attention that this commit breaks all powerpc's
except 4xx, like this:

start.S: Assembler messages:
start.S:266: Error: Unrecognized opcode: `exception_prolog'
start.S:285: Error: Unrecognized opcode: `exception_prolog'
make[1]: *** [start.o] Error 1
