I don't think anyone mandates EFI support. I merely asked for reasoning 
why it was explicitly disabled - with a preference not to have it 
disabled, but that's by no means a mandate :).

The slides should be on the ELC web site, yes:

They're presented using keynote on a Mac. I haven't found anything 
remotely as comfortable for creating presentations anywhere else :).
