I did one mistake here. i2c_probe() returns non-zero value for error.
In qemu it returns non-zero and on real HW it returns zero.

So i2c_probe() passes on real HW and then following i2c_write() cause
above "Check if pads/pull-ups of bus are properly configured" error
message. In qemu it looks like i2c writes are just discarded (maybe qemu
does not emulate this i2c device).
