Thanks for the hint (and apologies for not replying to your comment
on IRC before).
So this one here is clearly an RFC. I found myself deeply in a "let
me fix this comment formatting" rabbit hole lately, so wanted to get this
out now, so that people can start looking at it. That's why I didn't
compare your driver with that code here yet. From a very brief look, yours
is much more compact, so there is indeed some hope the two can get merged.
But I doubt that I realistically find the time in the next weeks to
compare them carefully. Also this driver here has clearly some work left
(for instance naming all the registers).
So any help, contributions and comments to this topic are warmly welcomed.
