Hm... only when re-reading my posting I see that you actually have
/home/user/ELDK-4.2/usr/ppc-linux/bin in your path, and early enough,
as it seems.

Since it works fine here, I suggest you retry it.

If it fails again, please make sure to report exact details about your
system environment (Linux distribution, 32 vs. 64 bit environment,
etc.).
