[ELDK] FDT Fattenned Device tree for kilauea

Hi,

 

I am working on on the Kilauea eval board (in fact is daughter Haleakala eval board with 405exr).  I am using the denx 4.2 ELDK with kernel 2.6.24 and uBoot 1.3.0.  I want to know if the flattened device tree blob is needed with this configuration?  If yes, what could be the impact to not have it during boot process?

 

Any help will be appreciated.
