[ELDK] errors installing ELDK4.2 on Ubuntu 6.06 dapper drake

Did you try compiling a simple C test program?  To me it looks like
you're missing essential files to use a C compiler.  Check for example
if you miss a "libc6-dev" package.  If you want to work with a linux
kernel you'll probably also need more packages.
