[ELDK] mkfs.jffs2 in VmWare 7.0

Under normal conditions, no error in any application program or
library can cause a kernel panic. It can cause the application to
crash or to hang or to produce inforrect results, but not a kernel
panic.

If you see such behaviour, it is extremely likely that you are running
into a VmWare bug.
