What makes you think your problem has anything o do with the toolchain?

Wrong. There is no glibc 3.3.2. The latest stable version  is  2.3.2.
And  nm  matter which version you use, it doese not "use hard FP" per
se - it always uses what it was configured for; if you don;t want har
FP then don't configure it for it.
