Actually, I have got u-boot working without that "dirty trick" already.

Well, I expect that BEFORE relocation it must work without any special table be loaded. DULG says so and I have personal experience with Yosemite board. After all, ELF file is compiled with 0x01f00000 address and that where u-boot is loaded...
