mkimage -h shows more invocation variants than "mkimage [OPTIONS]":
mkimage -l IMAGE
mkimage [-x] -A arch -O os -T type -C comp -a addr -e ep -n name -d DATAFILE[:DATAFILE...] IMAGE
..suggesting certain OPTIONS are not [optional].
