Hi Wolfgang
We can rename KWD_CONFIG to CONFIG_SYS_KWB_CONFIG and have default assignment as above
If for some boards default assignment stands invalid, those can be redefined in board config file.

I will post a patch for this, waiting for your comments/ack.
