In which way is "unknown" different (or even more weird) than
"unidentified"?

We could also print "i.MX???" to express whaty we are meaning.  How
about that?

7 additional bytes of data that have no real use ar just 7 bytes
wasted.  I will routinely object when I see memory being wasted
without benefit.
