Technically it should be no unsolvable problem to add ZFS support to
U-Boot. However, there are the same licensing issues that prevent ZFS
to be included with the Linux kernel; see

Like Linux, U-Boot is released under GPL (v2+), which is not
compatible with the Sun CDDL.
