[U-Boot] current version of u-boot doesn't seem to load kernel for beaglebone black

following up on my own post, it would *seem* that what one needs is
the following patch:

otherwise, i just don't see where the kernel image is going to be
loaded for a BBB config and build, and it's *always* going to fail
getting a proper kernel image. thoughts?
