No, its not a version problem.

If you look at the output from the link command, you'll see:
"/usr/v310/uboot_linaro/u-boot-linaro/drivers/mtd/nand/nand.c:104:
undefined reference to `board_nand_init'"

You're missing "board_nand_init" function...
