[U-Boot] can't change stdin and stdout environment

Hello,

I have some strange behaviour when trying to modify stdin and stdout
in u-boot environment.
I do
$setenv stdout nc
but on watching the value
$pri stdout
stdout=serial

It always keeps serial , and it given no error on trying to modify it.

Is there any idea ?
