If you pass the flash partition sizes to the  Linux  kernel  via  the
boot  arguments  (or  bi_recs  one  day)  you can adjust as needed in
U-Boot or Linux as you like  (assuming  you  can  access  the  U-Boot
environment from Linux, too).
