[ELDK] libcrypt-2.3.5.so crypt function problem

Hi All,
I have downloaded eldk4.1 from the following location
 http://ftp-stud.hs-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/eldk/4.1/ppc-linux-x86/sources/target/SRPMS/


I am seeing a strange problem where in sometimes, the crypt function
used from libcrypt-2.3.5.so library returns different hash for the
same password and salt .
I am using the older DES 8-bit encryption with 2 chars from salt.
Can anyone please let me know, if there are any patches for
libcrypt-2.3.5.so  related to this.

Any suggestions related to this would be very helpful
